Giving Customers Credit on Account

Q. How do I put a credit on a customers account for future use. Not a deposit on account but a credit for being a referral?

Answer:

To create a credit for a customer, go to the customer record and select customer options. Choose Create a Credit. You’ll need to know what expense account you want to post it to as well, generally an Expense, but some accountants suggest it as a Cost of Goods Sold, or even an Income item (negative income) Check with your accountant. This will create a credit available to be used as payment later.

Vehicle Transfer

Q. I have a new customer that brought in their vehicle and the vehicle has been here before but is showing under another customer's name, how do I keep the existing vehicle history with my new customer?

Answer:

In the existing customer record you will highlight the vehicle in question and then click on “Vehicle Options” from the menu you will chose “Transfer Vehicle.” The transfer wizard will step you through moving the vehicle and all of its history from the existing customer to the new one.

AllData Issues with Audi/VW

Q. I'm unable to access AllData from MaxxTraxx when I'm looking up Audis or VWs.

Answer:

This appears to be a problem with the AllData ID for that vehicle. AllData has change the ID they use for those and when we pass over the "old" number it locks up AllData. We suggest you try opening the vehicle record in MaxxTraxx, click on the Details button to the right of Engine and clearing that number out of the AllData ID field. Save the record then try again.
